The elections for Borough and Parish Councils in Rushcliffe will be on Thursday 3 May 2007.
In order to vote, you must first be registered to vote. This sounds obvious, but many people do not check, and they find too late that they cannot vote.
To check whether you have a vote, look at the electoral register (at council offices or in the public library).
To register for a vote if you are not already registered, please click here for an electoral registration form. Print it, fill it in, and send to the Borough Council as soon as possible. Your form must arrive at the Council by 18 April 2007 if you want to be able to vote in the May election.
Having ensured that you are registered to vote, you can request a postal vote if you are unable to get to your polling station on election day, or are simply disinclined to do so. Please click here for a postal vote application form. Print it, fill it in, and send it to the Borough Council as soon as possible. Your form must arrive at the Council by 18 April 2007 if you want to use a postal vote in the May election. Ballot papers will be sent to postal voters from 24 April onwards.
You will need Adobe Acrobat Reader to read the forms. If you do not already have it, please visit www.adobe.com for a free download.
