Parking fines for
untidy parking
From Monday 12 October 2009, Rushcliffe Borough Council will begin handing out fines for car drivers who park irresponsibly in the seven council-owned public car parks in Bingham, Radcliffe-on-Trent and Keyworth.
The council is introducing these measures to address public concerns - responsible parkers keep complaining that it's time the Council tackled the inconsiderate parkers. The Council is not introducing charging in these car parks - it is cutting down on anti-social behaviour. Some people park very badly, for example:
- taking up two bays
- parking on access roads
- abusing the disabled bays (not displaying valid blue badges)
- parking large vans or cars with trailers in the car parks
Civil enforcement officers who patrol the car parks will issue "dummy tickets" for the week starting on
5 October 2009. This gives people fair warning that they would have got a ticket if the system had been in force, and additional signs will be placed in all car parks warning of this new system. The issuing of "real tickets" begins on 12 October.
