Rushcliffe Voluntary Transport
Scheme - drivers wanted
The Rushcliffe Voluntary Transport Scheme helps people with no alternative means of transport to make necessary journeys, e.g. medical appointments (not hospital out-patient appointments), shopping trips, social activities and visits to friends and relatives. All drivers are volunteers who use their own cars and are reimbursed for their expenses at 40p per mile. New drivers are needed in all areas of the borough with the exception of Aslockton and Whatton. There is a particular shortage of drivers in Keyworth and Ruddington.
If you would like to join the scheme and make a real difference to the quality of people's lives in your area, please contact Jayne Randle or Alison Mason on 0115 981 6988. The amount of time you want to make yourself available to the scheme is up to you - there is no set pattern. The scheme operates Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.
