Dog-fouling in alleys
- a plea for responsible behaviour
I have been asked by a resident of The Ridings in Keyworth to publish this letter on behalf of herself and her neighbours:
"We wish to remind the person or persons who let their dogs foul the alleyways between Fairway, Mount Pleasant and The Ridings that it is illegal, anti-social and very distressing for people who end up with dog excrement on their shoes, pushchairs and bike wheels, and particularly for the partially sighted lady who uses the alleyways.
The council is aware of the misuse of these alleyways, and it is within its rights to prosecute anyone found letting their dog foul them. A bin is provided along the alley between The Ridings and Mount Pleasant for the disposal of your dog's mess. PLEASE USE IT.
Thanks to all the responsible owners who do clean up after their dogs. As for those who don't - we will report you and you will be fined."
Thank you to Mrs. Jackie Ward for this heartfelt plea. I hope everyone will take note. I have also arranged for Streetwise to carry out regular inspections and cleaning of these alleys.
