During the week beginning 17 November, a thermal survey of homes in Keyworth was carried out. A van went around the village each evening, pointing its heat sensors at houses that it passed. My article of 12 November gave advance warning of the survey - please click here to read it.
As a result of the survey, about 900 homes out of 3500 received letters from Rushcliffe Borough Council saying that they could do with more insulation. Householders were also informed that, unless they contacted the council to say they were not interested, their details would be passed to the Mark Group, a company specialising in home insulation.
PLEASE NOTE: if you received one of these letters, you are not obliged to do anything or to authorise any work or to spend any money.
You can freely choose to arrange a visit by a representative of the Mark Group, but you do not have to accept his advice or proceed with any work. You can choose to engage someone else to improve your insulation. You can choose to do the insulation yourself. You can choose to do nothing.
