Sure Start Children's Centre
to be launched in Keyworth
A new Sure Start Children's Centre service will soon open in Keyworth. This is a new scheme for children under 5 and their families, and it works in partnership with parents and organisations such as schools, playgroups, day nurseries, the library, Family Information Service, health services, Job Centre Plus and many more, to give children the best start in life. Existing services are being coordinated in a single scheme, which will be based at Keyworth Primary and Nursery School.
The Sure Start scheme is part of a Government initiative (being implemented locally by Nottinghamshire County Council) to bring a large number of health and education services for the under-5s into a coordinated scheme, in the hope that all young children and their parents will find it possible to find what they want.
To celebrate the launch of the Keyworth centre, there will be a programme of fun activities, storytime, songs and craft activities at Keyworth Primary and Nursery School between 10.30am and 2.30pm on Friday 26 September.
