The main bus service for Keyworth is the Keyworth Connection route operated by Trent Barton. During the daytime on Monday to Saturday, this runs every 15 minutes between Keyworth and Nottingham, e.g. at 7 minutes past the hour from The Square. There is a half-hourly service on Sundays and an hourly service in the evenings (every day). A full timetable is available at
A peculiar feature of the Keyworth Connection is that buses run in a single direction clockwise around Keyworth. This means that, although you can get directly from (say) Wolds Drive to the Square, it is not possible to make the reverse journey on a single bus. Trent Barton say this is to avoid confusion, as passengers prefer to have the confidence of a regular and unchanging timetable.
However, this does leave a problem for local travel within the village. The three other local bus services go some way to fill the gaps. I am grateful to "B. Ussmann" for the following notes on these services.
Normanton Lane, the north end of Nottingham Road and Manor Road to The Square: Service 12 runs at 10.06, 13.06 and 16.01 - return on the Keyworth Connection.
Wysall Lane, the Burial Ground, Lings Lane corner and Main Street to The Square are served by Service 12 at approximately 08.38, 09.10, 11.56 and 14.56 - the service is so infrequent that many would find it better to walk into the village and then return at 10.15, 13.15 or 16.10. This service uses the bus lay-by in The Square opposite the bus shelter. On Mondays to Fridays later services are operated by Trent Barton at 18.07 and 19.07.
Bunny Lane, The Square, Selby Lane, Wolds Drive and BGS corner are served by Service 63 every hour from 09.42 until 14.42 which continues to Tollerton and Bingham. So if you have used the Keyworth Connection from any part of Wolds Drive to get to The Square you can use this service to return. This bus stops in The Square on the church side of the road. A similar service operates in the reverse direction calling at the bus shelter hourly from 09.42 to 14.42. All 63 services run on Mondays to Fridays so you will have a long wait if you are waiting for one on Saturday.
Stanton on the Wolds, Browns Lane, Willowbrook and Selby Lane are served by Service 29 from Stanton at approximately 09.30, 11.45, 14.45 and 17.05 and also provide a return service for those who have travelled to The Square from the top of The Fairway, Willowbrook or Selby Lane on the Keyworth Connection and are wondering how to get back again. Services leave from The Square bus shelter on Mondays to Saturdays at 09.40, 11.55, 14.55 and 17.25.
A full set of timetables has now been placed in the bus shelter in The Square.
