Fly-tipping will get you caught!

This photo shows a particularly bad case of fly-tipping in Plantation Road, Keyworth. The resident wanted to dispose of two bed bases, a double mattress and a TV aerial, but objected to the fee charged by the Borough Council for a special collection of large items of refuse, so the items were simply left on the pavement. The Streetwise service picked up the rubbish and are now pursuing legal action against the offender.

Did you make this mess?

Did you leave the rest of the community to solve your rubbish-collection problems?

If so, you should be ashamed of yourself!
Note: special collections are charged at £11 for the first item and £5 for each subsequent item. This compares very well with commercial collectors. To arrange a collection, phone Rushcliffe Borough Council on 0115 981 9911 or visit www.rushcliffe.gov.uk/recycling2go/doc.asp?cat=1622
