Grantham Canal car parks
- beware of crime
I have been asked by Rushcliffe Community Watch to be aware of a significant increase in theft from unattended vehicles in car parks along the Grantham Canal. Most of the vehicles attacked have been parked in the small parking areas adjacent to the bridges that cross the canal. Such sites are popular with walkers and people exercising their dogs. Nearly all such sites are remote and well away from habitation.
If you are a user of these car parks, please take care that you do not leave any items on display in your vehicle, that it is secured when you leave it and any security devices fitted are armed and functioning.
The police would ask that, if you see anything that looks suspicious (such as parked vehicles containing groups of people watching the car parks or persons hanging about for no apparent reason), you inform the police as quickly as possible.
