Rushcliffe launches
Community Support Scheme

Rushcliffe Borough Council has launched its Community Support Scheme on a smaller scale to a similar scheme run by Nottinghamshire County Council. Each of the 50 councillors has a "pot" of £500 per year to allocated to local schemes for the benefit of the community. Each allocation has to meet rules set by the Council and has to be vetted by Council officers.

So far, Debbie and I have each allocated £100 for the compost toilet at Keyworth allotments. Other allocations will follow. Please mail me if you have any ideas or wish to bid for money.

A parallel scheme called the Community Fund has also been launched. This is for projects supported by councillors but not directly allocated by them, and grants of up to £5000 will be available.
