Free swimming for children
Parkwood Leisure is introducing free swimming during all public sessions from 1 December for
all children enrolled on the Aquazone swimming lesson programme.
This development is part of the company's initiative to get more children active within the Borough. As part of the development of swimming lessons, Parkwood is working with the Amateur Swimming Association (ASA), as one of their main corporate partners, to implement the new National Plan for Teaching Swimming. This scheme is part of the ASA's national improvement plan to enhance swimming standards nationwide.
As a direct result of this initiative, over 2600 children will have access to a free swim at any of the four swimming pools operated by Parkwood in Rushcliffe. These are Keyworth, Cotgrave, Bingham and Rushcliffe Leisure Centre (not the Arena, and not East Leake, which is separately managed).
