Ballot papers confusion!

Numerous postal voters in South Keyworth have reported being confused by the ballot papers arriving in the post this week.

On Tuesday 24 April the ballot papers for the Keyworth Parish Council election arrived. The paper is yellow and includes the names of FOURTEEN candidates, out of which you may vote for up to THIRTEEN. The candidates' names (in alphabetical order) are Linda Abbey, Debbie Boote, Elizabeth Carr, Michael Erwin, Chris Evans, Alistair Grant, Tony Grice, Timothy Heeley, Rebecca Horne, Sharon Howard, Tony Kemmer, Kath Oakley, Janice Price and David Roos.

On Wednesday 25 April the ballot papers for the Rushcliffe Borough Council election arrived. The paper is white and includes the names of SEVEN candidates, out of which you may vote for up to THREE.

There is no such confusion in North Keyworth, where there is no parish council election. The borough council ballot paper includes the names of TWO candidates, out of which you may vote for ONE.

Please ensure that you follow the instructions for inserting the ballot paper into envelope A and then into envelope B.

You should post the completed ballot paper(s) back to the council by Tuesday 1 May and preferably well before. If you forget to post your paper, you can still take it to the polling station on Thursday 3 May.

Please mail me or phone 0115 937 4644 if you need any advice.
