Borough and parish council
elections

This year the elections to Rushcliffe Borough Council and to parish councils in Rushcliffe will be taking place on Thursday 3 May. There are 123 candidates for 50 seats in 28 Borough Council wards. There will be elections for 40 parish councils, though only 11 of these will have contested elections.

Full details of candidates may be seen at www.rushcliffe.gov.uk/doc.asp?cat=10333&doc=7090

About 31% of electors in Rushcliffe will have postal votes (which they have requested either on this occasion or as part of a permanent arrangement). Postal ballot papers should arrive at electors' homes on 24 April, and they need to be posted back to the Borough Council by Tuesday 1 May. However, anyone who has missed the deadline for posting a ballot paper can still deliver it to their local polling station until 10pm on 3 May.

Anyone who wants a postal vote, but has not yet applied for one, can apply by 18 April. Click here, then download a form, print it, fill it in, and send it to the Council.
