Path to be reopened alongside
the new Health Centre
Residents in Bunny Lane and on the Brookview estate will be uncomfortably aware that the path between the estate and Commercial Road (at the back of the Square) has been closed for a few weeks while building works on the new Health Centre are continuing. This has been necessary while the road around the Health Centre is being prepared for tarmacing.
Unfortunately there has been a tale of poor communication between the builders and the County Council regarding the legal procedure for shutting the path (which is a public right of way) and the notices which have to be erected on site, advising of the closure. Meanwhile, local residents have had to make a very long detour between their homes and the shops.
Having had an on-site meeting with the Rights of Way Officer and the site manager, I am pleased to report that the tarmacing will begin on Monday 26 February and the path will be open to the public on Thursday 1 March (or, with any luck, a day earlier).
